Grafema is seven typography and geometry studios sharing one canvas. Parameterise letterforms, edit vertices, lay out vector type, paint through grids, and sample glyphs into particles and stamps — type treated as geometry you can drive rather than text you set.
Every workspace speaks a different dialect, all rendered from the same shared core.

The workspaces
7 engines. One studio.
Switch from a single tab bar. Each is an isolated sketch with its own control panel — but they share palettes, presets and export.
GRAFEMA
Free
Generative typography
Control character width, height, stroke weight, detail level and rotation across active glyph layers. The parameteriser the whole studio is named after.
VERTICE
Free
Vertex and glyph editor
Geometric connections, custom grids and interactive path compositions with corner-based curves. Edit the points a letterform is made of.
SECUENCIA
Free
Interactive text layout
Compose typographic lines from twelve single-line scripts, edit the curves anchor by anchor, and drive size, slant and baseline offset.
RETICULA
Pro
Raster grid drawing
Paint a mask with a flat brush and render it through a configurable grid of shapes — metaballs, circles, rectangles or crosses.
TEXTURA
Pro
Kinetic type patterns
Generate text-based forms with fontkit and paper.js, then animate them with sine, double-sine and noise motion with easing.
RASTRO
Pro
Type into particles
Sample type into a particle field driven by flow, noise, periodic and interactive motion, with gradient and spectrum colouring.
MUESTRA
Pro
Glyphs into stamps
Lay out glyphs with opentype, sample them via paper.js into configurable point and shape stamps, and drive them with parametric motion.
The shared engine
Different outputs. Same DNA.
One architecture behind every workspace. Everything you learn in one carries to the next.
1
Real font engines
opentype, fontkit and paper.js all ship in the box, alongside Hershey single-line scripts. Grafema reads actual outlines, not traced bitmaps.
2
Lazy-loaded studios
Seven studios and it still starts fast — each sketch and its heavy libraries load only when you first open that tab.
3
Shared design system
One CSS layer, one control-panel builder, one set of utilities. The architecture the other three studios are built on.
The full rack
34 modules. 7 workspaces.
Every generator, filter and colour engine on board.
Subscriptions run through Stripe. Sign in inside the app to start.
What's new
Shipped, and still shipping.
Grafema updates in place — open it and you have the latest.
1.5.0
A rebuilt control panel, a real curve editor in SECUENCIA, and RASTRO's sliders finally doing what they say.
Every tool panel now uses the same sections in the same order, so a parameter sits under the same heading whichever studio you are in.
Choosing a font now sits with the size, leading and spacing it affects, instead of two headings above them.
SECUENCIA — double-click a curve to add an anchor exactly on it, and remove one without the outline jumping.
SECUENCIA — bezier handles mirror again, so a direction can be pulled to both sides of an anchor.
SECUENCIA — dragging a path now follows the cursor instead of running ahead of it, and clicks on the toolbar no longer fall through to the canvas.
SECUENCIA — the Font Script list grew from 8 to 12 single-line faces, adding Relief, Mistral, Twin Sans, Osmotron, Herculean and Nixish.
SECUENCIA — leaving and re-entering the studio no longer breaks it.
SECUENCIA — four outline faces were retired from that list (Hershey Serif, Hershey Cursive, Nixish Italic, Tech); a saved project using one will need a different script.
RASTRO — the variable-font axes, Weight included, now reach the canvas; every one of those sliders had been doing nothing.
RASTRO — gradients apply per particle again rather than flooding every shape with one flat colour.
RASTRO — switching a preset repaints immediately instead of waiting on a font download, and nudging a motion slider no longer leaves the canvas frozen.
Background reference images work again in GRAFEMA, VERTICE and SECUENCIA — they had been failing on the live site only.
Long sessions no longer slow down and freeze: each preset change and resize was leaking a canvas.
A new release now reaches you on the next visit rather than up to four hours later.
1.0.2
SVG export produces SVG again.
Fixed Save SVG in SECUENCIA, which had been writing a PNG under the .svg name — the file downloaded but no design tool could open it.
Fixed SVG export in VERTICE, which had been failing outright and producing no file.
VERTICE controls no longer respond twice to one click or drag.
1.0.1
SECUENCIA and VERTICE respond again.
Fixed the controls in SECUENCIA and VERTICE, which had done nothing at all since the move to grafema.legenki.com — modes, sliders, text entry and background images.
PNG and SVG export from those two studios works again, as does Save and Load Project in VERTICE.
1.0.0
The move to grafema.legenki.com is complete.
Fixed TEXTURA and MUESTRA failing to open at all on the new domain.
Fixed MP4 export, which had stopped for the same reason.
Links to Grafema now show a preview image when shared.
0.12.0
Accounts, Pro, and a home of its own.
Grafema now lives at grafema.legenki.com. Sign in with Google and subscribe through Stripe.
GRAFEMA, VERTICE and SECUENCIA stay free; RETICULA, TEXTURA, RASTRO and MUESTRA need a subscription.
The monthly price now reads $8, matching what Stripe actually charges.
Security pass — a preset file can no longer inject markup or corrupt the page, and fonts no longer leak between workspaces.
RASTRO and TEXTURA render noticeably smoother while you drag a control.
0.11.0
TEXTURA listens.
Load an audio file and modulate TEXTURA with its frequency bands.
The sidebar takes on the canvas colour, so the two stop fighting each other.
Workspaces you have left are released, and quality adapts to your device — long sessions stop slowing down.
The panel now reflows on narrow screens instead of clipping its labels.
0.10.0
Variable fonts, with the axes exposed.
Google variable fonts across the type workspaces, with a slider per axis — weight, width and whatever else the font carries.
SECUENCIA opens far faster; its presets were 9 MB of scripts and are now loaded as data.
Canvas rendering reworked for Firefox, where RASTRO, TEXTURA and MUESTRA had been crawling.
MP4 export defaults to 30fps — smaller files, smoother playback.
0.9.0
Bring your own shapes.
Upload an SVG shape into RASTRO and MUESTRA and it becomes the stamp.
MUESTRA takes an uploaded image as a fill.
SVG export in the GRAFEMA workspace.
Fixed glyphs you could no longer drag after switching to the SVG canvas.
0.8.0
Presets renamed and retuned.
Short, mood-based preset names in TEXTURA, RASTRO and MUESTRA, with the canvas copy swapped for same-length text so compositions keep their layout.
Fixed palettes that produced invalid colours, which showed up as washed-out or black output.
0.7.0
Faster to open, and presets you can keep.
Startup dropped from roughly 5 MB of code to 1.2 MB — heavy libraries now load with the workspace that needs them.
Export any of TEXTURA, RASTRO and MUESTRA as a preset file, and import one back.
Fixed a preset file being able to inject markup into the control panel.
0.6.0
One interface across all seven.
The same control panel language everywhere — collapsible sections, unified sliders, checkboxes and mode selectors, with the old logo headers and key hints removed.
iPad and stylus fixes — panels respond to touch, sliders stop sticking mid-drag, and SECUENCIA no longer crashes on a touch.
Works offline once you have opened it.
Fixed blur disappearing in the published build but not in development.
0.5.0
TEXTURA, RASTRO and MUESTRA — seven workspaces.
TEXTURA kinetic type patterns, RASTRO glyphs sampled into particles, MUESTRA glyph stamps.
A font picker with a catalogue plus your own font files, dropped onto the canvas.
PNG, SVG and MP4 export, and autosave, in all three.
0.4.0
Plano becomes Grafema.
New name, same studio.
Fixed RETICULA crashing on start, and a brush that drew offset from the cursor and lagged behind it.
0.3.0
RETICULA grows up.
Undo and redo, a flat brush, shape and grid parameters, and custom SVG shapes.
Theme and autosave reach RETICULA too.
Fixed hidden canvases burning CPU and stealing clicks in the background.
0.2.0
Online, and it remembers you.
Published on the web — no install, no download.
Autosave in every workspace — close the tab and your work is still there.
A dark and light theme, applied across the studio.
Works on iPad and touch screens.
0.1.0
First release — four workspaces on one canvas.
GRAFEMA generative typography, VERTICE vertex and glyph editing, SECUENCIA text layout, RETICULA raster grid drawing.
